I love music podcasts. You ever fuck with Wayne Butane’s Jukebox Jihad? What about Tabs Out or The Soggy Bog Of Doom?

I get asked a lot by friends what I’m jamming to lately. People seem to think my music interests are relevant to them. But when asked I usually just stumble and can’t remember, maybe because there’s usually just an awful lot of it.

Somehow I got the idea a few days ago to try doing a music podcast of my own. The first episode is now on my Soundcloud. I can’t promise it’s good. Well, the music on it is, but I’m probably not a great host. I play almost everything through my stereo into Audacity (sometimes stuff that’s already been bounced from computer to cassette, even) and record my talky bits on the built-in laptop microphone with no script and no planning. Sometimes I edit stuff weird on purpose. I talk funny. Hopefully I don’t get any lawsuit threats from labels for stuff I play on it.

I’ll totally take submissions. Physical formats are preferred, followed by lossless digital (Bandcamp download codes will work) but I’m not necessarily going to be a stickler. I like lo-fi vibes anyway. If you send me music in the mail, I’m going to assume you’re okay with it getting played on this thing. But I don’t promise that I will, either. E-mail me for my mailing address.

I’ll also offer up cassette copies. I plan to keep the episodes about 45 minutes, so for trade or a couple dollars, whatever you offer, you can pick out two episodes and I’ll dub them onto a C-90 and send it to you.

Subscribe it in iTunes or whatever using the RSS link for my Soundcloud account: http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:5072606/sounds.rss.
