We had another Zeitgeist fest at the Elephungeon last weekend (November 16) and much like the previous ones, it’s a whirlwind of sights and sounds and sensations that is still processing and probably will be for some time. We never managed to get Cock ESP or Arvo Zylo or even Contraktor but we were fortunate enough to be joined yet again by Breakdancing Ronald Reagan and Dromez, re-feature some artists that have been consistent Zeitgeist presences since the start like Stratum and ARU; bring newly into the fold Juhyo and Big Fist Johnny, both of whom were awesome; Navonski is still mysteriously missing-in-action; and I think dugoutcanoe might have been a trio this time. A lot more happened besides that, but like I said, still processing. Oh, and also I debuted my new project Cancer Lake, which is a duo of myself and beloved improv-scene drummer Matt Crowe playing improvised sludge-doom-free-jazz-noise. Feel the murk:
Also I got recordings of most, but not all, of the performances on my trusty Zoom H1. They turned out better than expected probably. I decided it was worth springing for the unlimited Soundcloud account to be able to put all of them up, so now you can experience at least the sounds of all this madness.
Hell, check out my Soundcloud out for regular postings of Zoom recordings of live stuff because this thing is just fun as hell to play with.
I have a lot of tapes sitting around here, because I suck at promoting, but please buy them for crissakes, they are really good. I wouldn’t have made them if I didn’t think so.
