One of the side-projects that more closely resembled regular rock bands, Online Inventory even played a few shows, mostly basement things. Reportedly, at an OI show, depending on the band’s mood, you either got the tuff rock riffage heard on much of this, or some fucked up noise played on broken instruments. Joe Riehle was on bass, Steve Wilson on guitar, Jeremy “Elfboy” McAdams was on drums, and fronting the group with manic lead vocals and a trashy old untuned three-string guitar was none other than Mike Wilson. I was supposed to play trumpet for them at one point, but the only show I did with them (a house party in Iowa City – the same one where The Bassturd did an all-improv set on accordion, a recording of which yielded “Wagner Is A Robot,” found on The Wagner Quartet’s Lonely), Elfboy didn’t show up so I filled in on drums instead. Two unreleased acoustic songs found on an old tape are added as bonus material here.
