The Ragman years were pretty well over by this time, but many people from it and from around it were involved in this somewhat hippified hip-hop/funk group, which I think may have been masterminded by Seth Nieman. It’s all a bit safe and innocuous for my tastes, what with all the talk about “positive vibrations” and so on. Maybe the idea was to be family-friendly. It’s like rap music meant for the public library. Musically, however – the grooves, the playing, the sound, the rapping – it’s really well done.
