So, so far three of these have shown up here. The new strategy in blog comment spam seems to be to post a vague complimentary message like “I like what you have to say. Your blog makes good sense to me,” or “Your ideas are right on” (which was placed on an old post in which I was merely announcing that I had installed a wiki). The spammer also provides an email address and website url in the personal information boxes. They appear to be selling offshoring services of some kind, I think one comment even gave the name as “offshore call center.”

Bummer is, I already got fooled by one of these, and WordPress allows any commenters who have already had a comment approved once before. And I’m hesitant to mark these as spam lest Akismet start filtering out real compliments :-/
